Welcome to Raw and Pure
This site combines our love of wildflowers, herbs, well-being, nature, crafts, self-sufficiency and green living. If you enjoy exploring natural products or experimenting with home crafting then this may be site for you. Raw and Pure is a family run business which started many years ago from our shared love of nature. We enjoy sharing our recipes and crafty projects, and making simple meals and unique gifts for those we love.
Charlie has now retired from his lifelong career of fence erecting for some of the top horseracing studs in Newmarket. This commitment to handwork and the outdoor world puts him in a good place as the head gardener at Raw and Pure. He is happy to work through all seasons and weather conditions and always finds something exciting in the natural world around him. Often described as happy-go-lucky, Charlie finds the greatest joy in the simplest of discoveries such as the discovery of a ripe blackberry bush or an edible puffball, or perhaps just gathering in a bumper harvest of his home-grown French beans.
Lorna is a beekeeper and an experimental arts and crafts enthusiast. Lorna enjoys taking the raw and pure ingredients that nature has provided and using these in all kinds of home DIY projects. From cooking with wild and cultivated herbs, making chemical free cleaning products or creating simple first aid remedies, it’s all about promoting health and simplicity and reducing our dependency on manufactured products which leave a heavy carbon footprint on our planet.
Jean is a retired nurse and a qualified herbal practitioner. She has an amazing knowledge about the healing properties of plants and how nature can provide just what we need to heal our bodies and our minds. Jean is also passionate about growing plants to produce natural dyes for use in many dying crafts projects. Jean loves sharing her knowledge with other likeminded friends. We are delighted to have Jean onboard with us here at Raw and Pure.
